Food Ministry Update:
A Heart For Serving
The Food Ministry at River Life Church has been a source of hope and nourishment for many in our community, and it’s growing every month.
Led by Cheryl Revels, the ministry now feeds about 140 people each month. Thanks to an incredible team of volunteers, we’re able to pack and load boxes on Wednesdays and Fridays, ensuring that food is distributed every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
"We’ve been blessed with great volunteers," says Cheryl.
"They show up every week with hearts ready to serve."
Support for the ministry has been strong, not only from our congregation but also from local partners like Annie Johnsons in Dunnellon, Crystal River Church of God, and Pastor Oats from Dunnellon.
Special mention goes to the Community Thrift Store in Dunnellon, which has generously donated three $2,000 checks over the last year and a half.
It’s not just organizations making an impact—individuals have stepped up too. Tim and Rhonda, a couple with a heart for giving, regularly show up with a truckload of food, ready to unload and share. Once a month, two older ladies arrive with their car full of donations, eager to support those in need.
More than just a place to receive food, the ministry has become a place of spiritual transformation. Several individuals have accepted Christ right there in the parking lot, with Vivian and Pastor Glenn praying with them. Two of those who found Christ are now giving back by helping at the food bank. We’re grateful for everyone who plays a part in making this ministry possible, from our faithful volunteers to our generous supporters. Together, we’re not just feeding bodies, but also nurturing souls.
