I AM | Wk 2

This week, Pastor Tom continued our series in John 8, focusing on Jesus’ declaration: “Before Abraham was born, I AM” (John 8:58). He reminded us that this wasn’t just another statement—it was Jesus boldly declaring that He is God, the same “I AM” who spoke to Moses in Exodus.

Through this powerful claim, Jesus revealed that He is eternal—He was before Abraham, He is now, and He always will be. Standing in the temple, He told the Pharisees that He is greater than their greatest heroes, greater than the temple itself, and the answer to every problem before it ever appears in our lives.

The Pharisees questioned Jesus, not realizing that the sin in their hearts was unbelief. Some people even believed He was God but still rejected Him. Yet, the truth remains—Jesus is the Great I AM, the one who offers peace, security, and presence that no one can take away. He doesn’t just want belief from a distance; He wants to sit with you, walk with you, and let you feel the warmth of His hand.

When you recognize that Jesus is the Great I AM, you can live in the confidence that He is everything you’ll ever need.
