Pastor Tom Golden launched a powerful new series, The Message of Hope is Here!, with a focus on Isaiah 9:6 and Isaiah 40:31. Through humor and heartfelt teaching, Pastor Tom shared how God’s promises give us hope even in the midst of challenges.
Kicking off the message with a playful football demonstration featuring Dylan, Pastor Tom illustrated how life can feel frustrating when things don’t go as planned—like trying to kick a ball that keeps getting moved. But just as Isaiah persevered through his mission despite resistance, we too are called to trust God’s plan and remain faithful.
Isaiah was a prophet chosen by God to deliver a message of hope 720 years before Jesus’ birth. Though he felt unworthy after encountering God’s glory, Isaiah responded to God’s call with obedience, writing about the Savior who would bring light to the world. Despite the challenges of his ministry—preaching to people who didn’t want to listen—Isaiah’s words have echoed through history, reminding us of the trustworthiness of God’s promises.
Pastor Tom emphasized that the same message of hope Isaiah delivered is still for us today. God knows the struggles we face during this season, and He has a plan, a purpose, and a place for us. Even when it feels like no one is listening or like our efforts are in vain, God is working behind the scenes for His glory.
Drawing connections to real-life stories, Pastor Tom highlighted how hope transforms lives, no matter the obstacles. He reminded us that we don’t have to be perfect to be used by God; we just need to be willing to say yes to Him.
This week’s message left us encouraged to embrace the hope of Jesus and trust in God’s unchanging promises. Join us next week for Part 2 of this inspiring series as we continue to explore the hope we have in Christ!
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
