Pastor Tom delivered a sermon centered around the theme that one can build their life on Jesus, encapsulated in the one-sentence sermon, “You can build your life on Jesus.” Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 28:16 and Matthew 7:24, Pastor Tom highlighted Isaiah’s prophetic anticipation of Jesus as the unshakable cornerstone of life, a foundation that never breaks, sways, or crumbles. Using the analogy of constructing a house, he emphasized that each time one opens the Bible, it is akin to adding a new brick to the edifice of their life, all anchored on the unyielding cornerstone that is Jesus. The overarching message was that by building one’s life on Jesus, there is assurance and freedom from anxiety.

Bible Verses:

Isaiah 28:16
16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.

Matthew 7:24-26
The Wise and Foolish Builders

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
