Can I Get It All Back?

Have you ever asked, “Can I get it all back?” Spiritually speaking, is it possible to recover what’s been lost? Pastor Tom opened with a personal story—right before moving to Dunnellon to become our pastor, someone gave him $3,000 in cash to help with the move.
But just as he was loading up the U-Haul in Ohio, his wallet—along with the money—was gone. He searched everywhere, even roadside ditches and trash cans, only to come up empty.
Then came the unexpected call from his dad: a trucker had found the wallet at a McDonald’s and was determined to return it. Pastor Tom got it all back—but not in the way he expected.
In Ezekiel 36:24–26, God promises to gather His people and give them a new heart and spirit. Ezekiel lived through the Assyrian and Babylonian exiles. He watched Jerusalem fall and warned his people to turn back to God. Even when Jerusalem was destroyed and later rebuilt—only to be crushed again by Rome—God’s word remained: “I will gather you.” The dry bones of Ezekiel 37 weren’t just about Israel—they’re about us. God is still calling people back to Himself. Spiritually, you can get it all back.
Pastor Tom reminded us of Isaiah’s words: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” Even when it looks like all hope is lost, God can breathe life into dead places. In the 1940s, Israel became a nation again—2,500 years after Titus declared God dead. Their modern currency even bears the menorah, a symbol stolen by Rome. But God’s promises never fail.
He also shared the true story of Martin and Gracia Burnham—missionaries in the Philippines. On their anniversary, they were kidnapped by terrorists. For over a year, they were held captive in the jungle. Gracia wrestled with faith, but her husband reminded her that God is still their source. When a rescue attempt came, Martin was killed in the crossfire—Gracia survived and returned home to her children. Despite tragedy, she found that God restored her heart and her faith. She did get it all back.
In the end, dry bones can live. But only if we place our hope, faith, and trust in Jesus.
Ezekiel 36:24–26
24 “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 37:5–6
5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
